This is a brief description of three of the plants I learned about in Chevak. I went on many walks, identified the plants, gathered them and made my own remedies, or drank the tea. I had help from many different people, Cup'ik people explaining what they do with them, or giving me some when was sick.

Joys and epiphanies you experienced:
I loved the fact that when I was sick I would be handed a plant and commanded to "chew". I also enjoyed making tinctures with people for the colds and illnesses that were going around the people of the institute, or knowing which plant to gather for tea.
