Fry Bread (for twenty five people) |

Mix with hands in a big bowl -- preferably
sitting on a coat spread out on the tundra, in a camp stove heated tent
-- until it's a bread dough consistency.
Tear off a handful of dough, flatten into a thick circle, poke five or so holes into the circle. Fry in 1 - 2 inches of Crisco until brown -- best in a cast iron pan (or two) on a camp stove (or two) -- flip over and brown the other side. Drain on cardboard -- from ripped up, empty boxes. Eat while warm. |
