What is this item? Describe it. What did you do? Why did you do it? Who did you work with? Include any information the viewer needs to know in order to understand what it is.
I created an outline of the great philosophical minds
throughout history, in chorological order. I have researched each philosopher
and time period and have organized their teachings into an outline
Obstacles, frustrations, or challenges I faced:
Each one of these philosophers could be a project
unto themselves, and it is very hard to just learn the basic thoughts of them
all. I had to break the outline into three parts to work on during the next
years.
Joys and epiphanies you experienced:
I love seeing how other people view, think and believe about the world around them, so this was an incredibly enjoyable experience on the whole. I can't pinpoint all the epiphanies I had while working on the outline, there were just so many.
Why I am including this as an item:
What I learned about myself as a result of the experience related to the sample:
When you, or at least when I learn about philosophy and the history of thought I'm not just learning about history I start to learn things about myself as well. Each of these philosophers brings up different views on all kinds of subject and after hearing them I have a better ground to start building up what I believe and my views on the world.
